The Lilywhites dominated from the start and took the lead after nine minutes. Harry Kane’s shot was parried by goalkeeper Alex Neil and Son Heung-min pounced on the rebound to slot home. Spurs doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when Kane chested down a pass from Christian Eriksen and fired home without a challenge. Spurs wrapped up the victory in the 73rd minute when substitute Danjuma headed home from a corner.

Preston had opportunities to pull one back in the first half but Harry Maguire headed wide from a corner, while Alex Neil saved well from Joe Garner after neat build-up play by Tottenham. The visitors improved after the break but could not find an equaliser, with Spurs playing with more tempo and control. The result sees Tottenham progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1991.

Preston were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the fourth round stage following a 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Preston North End in the FA Cup fourth round today and came out on top with a convincing 4-0 win. Son Heung-min scored two goals in the second half, giving Spurs a win they were never in danger of losing. The result moves Spurs into the sixth round of the FA Cup where they will face another Premier League side, Leicester City.

Preston had some chances early on but were unable to create much going forward. Son finally put Tottenham ahead in the 51st minute with a well placed header from a Dele Alli cross. The South Korean international then made it two goals in the 81st minute with a clinical finish past goalkeeper Chris Maxwell. Alli then rounded off the scoring for Tottenham in the 88th minute with a simple finish past Maxwell.

The win puts Tottenham in good stead for their Premier League clash against Leicester City next weekend. With Dele Alli back in the starting line up, Spurs are looking extremely dangerous and are sure to cause problems for their opponents.
