Google says it noticed a 98% drop within the variety of Play Retailer apps accessing SMS/name log knowledge in 2019 since cracking down on apps abusing permissions in Oct. 2018  —  Google has been clamping down on Android apps that abuse permissions, and that seems to have had a really tangible impact on the Play Retailer.
